The KWL Chart helps students think about what they already Know, what they Want to know and what they Learned about a topic. Make as many charts as you like. They save automatically in this browser, so they're still there next time you open the page.

How to use it
Click ＋ New KWL chart and type your topic.
Click ＋ Add a note under a column and type. Press Enter to start the next note.
Fill in K and W at the start of a unit, then come back to the same chart to add L at the end.
Click 🖨️ Print for a blank student worksheet or a copy of the filled-in class chart.
Teaching tips
Turn on the H column ("How will I find out?") in ⚙️ Settings when planning research.
Charts are saved in this browser on this computer only. Clearing your browser history may remove them.
Look back at the W questions at the end of the unit and talk about which ones were answered.
