Prism Sort helps students identify prisms among 3D objects. They look at each object, think about its faces and whether it has two matching ends joined by flat faces, and sort it into Prism or Not a Prism.
Best for: Years 2 to 4
How to play
Look at the 3D object.
Check: does it have two identical, parallel ends? Are all the other faces flat?
Drag or tap the object into Prism or Not a Prism.
Give a reason for your choice.
Teaching tips
Have real 3D objects available to hold and turn.
Ask students to name the prism by the shape of its end, like a triangular prism.
Use the 3D Objects Painter to count faces, edges and corners, and download the worksheet.
