About this tool
Steady Stare is a playful game that practises holding the eyes steady on one target, sometimes called fixation. Students keep their gaze on a sticker while fun distractors try to pull their eyes away.
Best for: Foundation to Year 4
How to use it
Sit comfortably with your head still.
Choose the time and sticker size.
Press Start and keep your eyes on the sticker.
See how long you held steady.
Teaching tips
Start with short times and a large sticker, then build up.
Use as a short warm-up before reading or writing.
